Sea Service: Served as Engineer Cadet to Second Engineer with Esso
Tanker company then transferred to Refrigerated Cargp Company ( Shaw Savill & Albion Co.). Served as Second Engineer and promoted to Chief Engineer.
Served on Refrigerated Cargo Liners and Passenger Liners, both Steam
And Motor vessels. Holds Combined 1st Class Steam and Motor Certificate.
Transferred to shore employment as Shift Engineer then Plant Superintendent at local BP Chemical Plant. Promoted to Manufacturing Engineer and responsible for all of the BP Chemicals rail transport, including rolling stock, rail crews, rail infrastructure and locomotives for ten years.
Passed out as locomotive driver and driving instructor.
Represented BPCL on the Chemical Industries Association as the rail specialist and represented BP and the CIA on Railtrack Dangerous Goods
Committee, the Railtrack Technical Committee for Private Waggon Owners And PWF Policy Committee. Represented the CIA on rail transport to the EU transport committee.
Now retired but originally worked as Independent Consultant for the
Railway Industry with specialist work on tank waggons and bulk waggons. Also
advised and trained private rail crews.
Served on the Hull and Humber Area IMarESt Committee since 1994.
